Blades set to sign Mason Bennett (6 month loan) and Kieron Freeman (Fee agreed)

Sheffield United are today expected to complete the signings of Mason Bennett, a highly rate young striker from Derby who has just recently signed a new four year deal, and Kieron Freeman who will sign permantly and go into Right back. Freeman played here on loan last season competing with Brayford for the right back position. Clough said after yesterdays game Vs Huddersfield, "Everything is basically done with Kieron, we've pencilled him in for Thursday (Vs Fernebache)" On the strikers he said he said "We hope to table a few bids this week"

Mason Bennett

The Blades are desperate for a striker who can actually put the ball in the back of the net. Bennett struggled at Chesterfield last season, scoring 0 goals in 2 apps for them. Although he played for the England U19's in 2013 and scored 4 goals in 4 apps. Bennett is only 18 at this moment in time but is a threat to League 1 defences. He's big, strong and athletic, he's got pace to get inbetween the defences and behind too. A shrewd signing by Clough.

Kieron Freeman

Freeman came here on loan last season and sometimes played left back. Been a Welsh international, Freeman has been capped alot. He's a bright prospect and to be honest the next best thing to John Brayford. Freeman will compete with Butler,Alcock,Harris,McGahey, to become a heart in the defence. The Brayford chase is finished i think but Freeman is younger and is developing better to be honest. He impressed on last season, his most memorable moment was against Brentford where the referee gave a penatly, sent him of but then brought him back on, as the linesman said no penalty. He will operate the wings and also be a wing back which Clough likes.
