Blades finally sign Striker

Sheffield United today completed the signing of striker Michael Higdon. Higdon (30) signs from N.E.C Nijmegen, for a undisclosed fee. Higdon signs after scoring 14 goals for N.E.C but N.E.C got relegated. Higdon started his career at Crewe, who nutured him scoring 10 goals in 81 apps and he scored against Coventry for Crewe in the last game of the season. Higdon joined Falkirk in 2007 on a free, making 62 appearances and scoring 15 goals. In 2009 he joined St Mirren, making 61 apps and scoring a impressive 18 goals. Then he signed for  Motherwell where his career kick started scoring an amazing 40 goals in 72 apps. He was voted Scottish player of the year for the 2012-2013 season, but was then arrested on suspicion of assault. He then earned himself a move to N.EC Nijmigen, 14 goals in 32 apps in their relegation season.

Higdon is the striker Sheffield United have been after for a long time, he's good at playing the ball on the floor and brining others into play. When he hit form at Motherwell, a certain Jamie Murphy was in the team and was a big help to Higdon helping him score them goals. Clough said ""He ticks a lot of boxes, including goalscoring record, experience, as well as being a big lad who can hold the ball up," said Blades chief, Clough.

"He scores different types of goals, he uses his left, right and head and we think the crowd will take to Michael.

"If you look at the quality of crosses we've put in over the pre-season period, it should be of major benefit to Michael. Flynn, Murphy, Harris, Alcock and Davies have all been whipping in balls - he has got to relish the prospect of working with Ben Davies.

"He's 30-years-old, experienced and began at Crewe so is technically sound. Michael will be a major asset to us."

Higdon said  " I'm coming to BL to "make my mark." in English football" He then said  Higdon I've rejected "a long list of clubs" to move to BL.
