My thoughts on the sacking of David Weir.. Featuring Player Power..

A broken Man... Weir after the Blades 1-0 defeat to Hartlepool in the JPT midweek
Sheffield United today officially announced the sacking, of manager David Weir. Weir had only been in the job, 124 days and the Blades chief executive Julian Winter said when they appointed Weir "We have told David, we want him to be here for a long time" well the Blades live to regret yet another, McCabe clueless appointment. Weir may have played a big part in securing the investment but, for the past couple of months since losing McDonald he's being a dead man walking.  Weir wanted to play the right way and pass the ball with successful results, not only with the possession stats!! But he could win the possession stats, but not get the end result. Which provoked the signing of Marlon King which, provided rift between the fans. I for one celebrated with Joy when he scored Vs Crawley on last Friday night. It was always looking bleak for Weir this week, with a game against free scoring Coventry and our key players being on international duty. Weir had the chance to call the game off but said no, and if not sacked today then, i think he'd have gone Sunday. If the passion he showed in his interviews before and after a game, in the dressing room before a game then no wonder the players were not fired up.

Player Power seems to be a key part of the Weir sacking, players like Tony McMahon and Harry Maguire didn't seem to get on with Weir. Also players like, Marcus Williams and Chris Porter, have had fall outs with Weir. Naming Doyle as captain seems to have been a mistake too. Player power is proving to be a massive affect on the game now days, personally i would do what Steve Evans has been quoted to do "Get rid of the Bad eggs" What ever there quality.

This is also another key factor where, HRH Prince Abdullah can show this "game changing investment"  Kevin McCabe promised us, in getting the manager we want and not going for second, third or even 5th choice like we did with Weir. Paying Weir off 124 days into his 3year deal, looks as if paying the manager of is no problem. But if we want a good manager eg... Steve Evans or Richie Barker or even Karl Robinson who all have experience in L1 we need to pay a big substance of Compo..

My personally favorite would be Steve Evans or  Richie Barker or Russell Slade all play hoof ball but in this league it's successful. Regardless whether fans hate it or not..
