Blades draw 1-1 Vs BarnsleyFc

Trialist Jordan Robertson scores Vs Barnsley at Oakwell!!
United's U21s netted a late equaliser to deservedly earn a share of the spoils against Barnsley at Oakwell on Wednesday afternoon.

McCauley Shillito put Barnsley ahead just after half-time, but trialist Jordan Robertson forced home a late leveller to ensure the game ended all square.

Speaking after the stalemate, Chris Morgan felt a draw was probably the fairest outcome, from an evenly-matched contest.

He said: "After a poor first-half that never got going, Barnsley started the second-half quickly and got their goal, although it was a disappointing one to concede from our perspective.

"We made a couple of changes after falling behind and switched formation, it certainly helped us get a foothold in the game. Our goal came during a spell when we were on top and we certainly finished the game the strongest.

"We perhaps could have nicked a winner late on but on reflection 1-1 was probably a fair result."

Shortly after the interval, after a very uneventful first period, the Tykes took the lead when the Blades failed to clear their lines from a set-piece and SHILLITO pounced on the loose ball to score from the edge of the six yard box.

Willis was at his best to deny Patterson moments later after United again failed to clear Rooney's corner.

As the game entered the final quarter United restored parity in the 79th minute when substitute ROBERTSON, a former Blades Academy player and one of two trialists on show, netted from close range after Lidakevicius fumbled a goalbound centre.

Blades: Willis, Hodder (Whiteman 68) Scarisbrick, Harriott, Kennedy, Barry, Carrillo (McDonagh 54), Pemberton (Robertson 59), Smith, Whitehouse, Khan.
Unused: Owen, Eyre.
