Weir tries out new ideas as Blades Lose

Captian Doyle scores a impressive goal
Burton came to the Lane hoping to repeat last season shock. The Blades started with a lineup full of fringe players so to speak. They kicked off with Burton kicking towards the Kop. Burton caused a threat with Rory Delap's long throwings. Chris Porter was through on goal put but the chance wide showing Weir what he is capable of. Then Burton came forward again with a ball flew across the six yard box but Burton couldn't put it away. MacDonald looked tired in the first half with Flynn returning and Brandy on the bench. With Westlake always looking for a option down his right wing their wasn't one their like they was Friday night with Flynn kept drifting into midfield but after that Doyle and Conor Coady dictated midfield. HT came and the possession stats the Blades had 62%.

2nd Half

The Blades came out with some more passing with Maguire and Collins keeping the ball to themselves. Then Burton came forward and the ball was crossed in Howard looked to have taken it cleanly but he let it dropped straight to Chris Hussey at the back post who scored past Howard 1-0 Burton. The Blades came forward with Westlake and MacDonald who failed to cross the ball in Taylor came on for Porter and so did Brandy for Flynn. Taylor was straight into the action when the Burton keeper kicked the ball right in his face after putting pressure on the Burton keeper. Doyle came forward and shot and it flew into the right hand corner from 40yards 1-1. The Blades played some more neat stuff then came Burton again with no one marking Chris Hussey he scored in the 5minutes added on time with a header similar to the 1st goal. United were out. Weir said Ultimately I'm disappointed in losing the game especially as it was so late on.
"We need to look at the reason we conceded the goals, why we conceded them and how we can do better.
"I thought we played well enough in parts of the game, but there's obviously issues that we need to do better." And also after said Taylor had rolled his ankle and said hopefully he will be ok.
