United bossed the game from the start with them opening the deadlock with a terrific goal. Shaun Miller went passed 3 Scunthorpe defenders and slipped the ball into the left hand corner. Then United pressed and pressed the Scunthorpe back line but couldnt find the 2nd goal. Miller went down with the physio coming on the pitch and signalling for the stretcher Miller walked off the pitch and received further treatment. The Blades went in at Half time and made a substitution on came Cofie for Miller who has picked up a leg injury. United came back out in similar form to the first a couple of minutes after Collins had to go off and has a fractured cheek bone. United's second goal came from a McMahon free kick after himself being fouled he drifted the ball in from near Wilson technical box and found Kitson head in to the right hand corner. Scunthorpe were trying to get back into it and United were on the back foot for some time with some blistering shots at young Long being saved easily. Another chance as Blackman drifted inside but the penalty was not given then shortly after on the 84thminute they got a penalty from magnificent build up from McDonald giving to Flynn the his cut-back to Blackman Flynn drifted inside and was fouled Blackman stepped up and scored with his 12th goal of the season. Manager Danny Wilson said
"We completely dominated the game from start to finish.
"We had a little bit of a wobble after half time and I think that was because of the substitutions we had to make.
"Everyone has gone home happy and from our perspective we have got everything we wanted today."  United now stay top two points above Tranmere who beat Crewe 2-1. And go into Hartlepool game at the Lane hoping to extend that lead.
